About Me

Heather Wolframe graduated from Confederation College with honours from the Dental Hygiene Diploma Program in 2008; earning an academic achievement award. She spent her first five years of practice in Calgary, AB in a technologically advanced general practice furthering her skills and knowledge while serving the people in her community.

Shortly after relocating back to her hometown of Thunder Bay, ON, she ventured out independently as the CEO/Director of Go Smile Inc. to serve those in need of better access to dental hygiene care. She much enjoyed her time offering dental hygiene services to individuals living in remote Northern Communities at the Wequedong Lodge. Her next undertaking was her 4-year involvement with the rebirth of the St Joseph’s Care Group dental clinic; where she was an interdisciplinary team member with the Mental Health Rehabilitation Program at St Joseph’s Hospital.

She's passionate for continuing education and is currently working on furthering her knowledge and understanding in biological dentistry. Heather is a Registered Dental Hygienist, Certified Biological Dental Hygienist with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), International Association of Orofacial Myology trained Orofacial Myologist (IAOM) - Certification Candidate, 15-year member with the CDHA and an active member with the IAOM and IAOMT.

When Heather is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, painting with watercolour and gouache mediums and playing her ukulele.
My Approach
Each person is unique and is on their own individual pathway; which is why it is crucial to take the time to understand how each person has arrived at where they are today. Assessing orofacial anatomy and physiology in correlation to identifying past and current noxious oral habits and function, enables us to work together to identify and address how to set and achieve goals for tomorrow.
The body functions as a whole and it is extremely eye-opening to piece together how a seemingly underestimated muscle, the tongue, impacts orofacial development and fundamental day-to-day functioning from embryonic stages through to adulthood.

Like with any adverse symptom, the root cause needs to be addressed or the reason why the symptom is occurring remains. Myofunctional Therapy deals with why the symptom(s) are present; the goal is to correct the reason the symptoms developed in the first place for lasting results.

Mission Statement:
To succeed in helping individuals thrive in overall health and wellness by assessing
and addressing myofunctional concerns
